What inspired you to teach? I am inspired to teach by none other than my parents, who are also educators. Collectively, my mother, father, and stepmother have over 75 years of teaching experience. They have shown me how rewarding the profession truly is and how much of an impact an educator can have on our youth. Even after all these years, to this day they have former students reaching out to them, letting them know that they changed and touched their lives for the better. I have always admired their lives and their dedication to helping others, and I found myself wanting to do the same. I’m beyond excited to follow in their footsteps and begin having a positive impact on my students and community.

Why did you choose Alder’s Teacher Residency program? I chose Alder’s Teacher Residency program because I am a big supporter and believer in their objective. To have the opportunity to learn from dedicated teachers and educators who have our students’ best interests at heart is really special. I know that I will be well equipped with the proper skills and knowledge to help cultivate success and make a positive impact in our students’ lives because I am a part of this program. With a Mentor Teacher, a helpful staff, and a friendly, welcoming cohort, I know that I’ll be supported, and I will never feel alone. I can happily and easily say that I am proud to be a part of this program and it has me excited for the future.
