Trayvonte Britt

Aspire Teacher Residency Bay Area at Alder GSE

“Tray was an exemplary resident. From the first day we met, he worked incredibly hard to master teaching skills and help our scholars achieve. He went above and beyond to build relationships with students, families, and co-workers, and our students grew academically and socially during the year due to having the extra support of two teachers. He will be great when he has his own classroom!”

What Is Your Hometown? Richmond, California

What College Did You Attend? New Mexico State University

What Degree Did You Earn? BA in Business Administration (Management)

What Inspired You to Teach? My inspiration to teach comes from those who took the chance to believe in me during my younger years. There were a few teachers who told me I was capable of great things regardless of my situation, which truly motivated me to internalize that my possibilities were endless. These same teachers held me to high standards at all times. I am honored to be able to return the favor to our bright minds of the future.

Why Did You Choose Alder’s Teacher Residency Program at Aspire Public Schools? I chose it because it is one of the best programs due to the fact that one is able to learn and practice simultaneously under a master teacher. This is beneficial in learning the practices of an educator firsthand and learning the way of Aspire: “College for Certain.”
